Performing Companies

Driftwood Dance Academy’s Performing Company is a group of enthusiastic students who wish to train more intensively and pursue extra performance opportunities during the season in addition to regular studio involvement.

Company members train with other dedicated students in Company Class, as well as their weekly technique classes, enhancing their creation and performance skills, awarding them the prospect of participating in festivals and other special events.

Company members must study ballet as part of a well-rounded dance schedule and are required to commit to a minimum number of technique classes per week.

The DDA Performing Company grew substantially in 2016/2017.  These talented dancers worked flawlessly together to create three group pieces that were performed at the Inglewood Care Centre in West Vancouver, Synergy Dance Competition in Burnaby, and the DreamTeam Dance Festival in Surrey.  Competitive soloists all placed Gold in their festival categories.

Solo, duo, and trio opportunities are given to Company members.

Auditioning dancers will be required to prepare a short piece of their own choreography and a personal statement as to why they wish to be in the Company.
